Not quite a finissage! is a day-long event which partially marks closure while opening new works to the public. The focuses on the research projects displayed in the Library of Land and Sea but will also encompass many surprises reflecting the spirit of this edition. Co-hosted with the Design Museum and Het Nieuwe Instituut and in collaboration with calling, the event will be broadcast online, on Saturday, 24 April. It  comprises talks, walks, performances and screenings from an international line-up of designers and artists including Dele Adeyemo, Ibiye Camp and Dámaso Randulfe, Black Athena Collective, Counterspace, Linda Schilling Cuellar, Dansbana!, Sophie Krier & Eric Wong, Aslıhan Demirtaş, FRAUD, Ilana Harris-Babou, Ayşenaz Toker and Merve Tuna, Anna Puigjaner – MAIO & Alina Abouelenin, BUREAU, Pelin Tan & Vivien Sansour & Luigi Coppola, Orkan Telhan & elii, theOtherDada, TiriLab, Aslı Uludağ.

In this episode, Mariana Pestana, the curator of the 5th Istanbul Design Biennial, and Nur Horsanalı, one of the members of the Young Curators Group talk with Martí Guixé, the designer of the "Solar Kitchen". The conversation expands on the story behind Guixé’s project and how it has evolved within the scope of the Istanbul Design Biennial. The discussion also touches upon the relationship between design and food, as Guixé is widely recognized for a significant body of work related to food design.
